At the risk of sounding like a California teenager, this morning's events in San Diego have been simply awesome. Step by step, the team is working the wing sail onto the boat.
The first mission was to get it out of the tent and moved a couple hundred metres down the quay. That was accomplished just as the sun began to peek over the horizon.
Next, two cranes had to work in sync to lift the wing up and swing it over the water and boat. So far so good.
The next step is to mate the wing sail with the BOR 90. And then attempt the to lift it from horizontal to vertical.
The planning, teamwork, coordination and execution involved in today's work cannot be overstated.
Watch this space, there's more to come...
