We equipped bowman Brad Webb (NZL) with a helmet camera a few days ago during training to get a sense of what he sees when he's doing his job. The result is quite impressive (even if we do say so ourselves!)
The video was shown to the media today, ahead of a Q+A session with some members of the sailing team.
When asked about the difference between sailing on USA and a version 5 ACC boat, Webb answered: "The gear is a lot bigger and we're trying to do it on a platform that is between 10 and 30 feet out of the water..."
"So while some of the technical aspects of it might be a little simpler, the grunt work of moving the heavy sails around and balancing on that platform are pretty much the biggest differences with the old AC boats."
