Viento fuerte

Strong winds today in Valencia. Make that very strong winds.

(Shot from inside the breakwater of the Port of Valencia)

The team forecast is for winds approaching 40 knots for much of the day, with stronger gusts. I've just been out on the deck at the team base, and that doesn't seem to be an exaggeration.

Although the winds are primarily from the west, and thus offshore, there is a good chop today in the well protected Dársena. Here you can see the waves piling up in front of the Veles e Vents building.

And although you can't see it in a still photo, the giant ferris wheel in the background below appears to be 'freewheeling' at a pretty good speed. I don't think they're open for business today.

Fortunately, this breeze is forecast to be relatively short lived, with significant easing expected overnight ahead of more moderate conditions for Friday.
