The home stretch

The Oceanlady is on the home stretch now, with less than 1000 nautical miles to go to Valencia, the home of the 33rd America's Cup. The Panama Canal sits over 4000 miles in their wake.

The familiar looking shot above, from shore crew member Matt Ferron (FRA), shows the BOR 90 in the foreground, the wing sail in the background, and mostly clear, blue skies overhead.

Due to arrive in VLC early this coming week, the forecast is for the long moderate swell they're currently steaming through to ease as the Oceanlady approaches the Med. Downwind conditions are forecast for their passage through the Gibraltar Strait.
