Clean mountain air

Weather, of course, is of critical importance to a sailing team. Micro-forecasting the wind direction and speed at a moment in time, on a relatively small, specific body of water, is something to which America's Cup teams devote considerable effort.

We'll be featuring more on the BMW ORACLE Racing weather team over the coming days, but on Saturday, Pablo Mira (ESP), sent us this shot from his iPhone, taken about 25 kilometres inland, at noon.

You'll notice the sun has returned, after the deluge of the past couple of days. But it's still pretty cold and you can see the snow on the mountains in the background.
