Back in the day

It was 21 years ago when a multihull first made an appearance in the America's Cup. Stars & Stripes won the 1988 match and also featured a wing sail. At 60-feet, it was much smaller than the BOR 90, so it was easier to handle logistically. The catamaran was taken out of the water each night, and laid on its side, with the wing attached, at the team base in San Diego.
